About Runner Rugs

A narrow format can give a hallway its own color and rhythm. Explore vintage Moroccan runners, textured Berber designs, and flatwoven kilim runners in individual widths and lengths.

Measure the clear space

Measure between the furniture actually in the hallway, then mark the proposed rug outline. Leave room at entrances and check every door that swings across the rug. Consider the combined thickness of the rug and any rug pad.

Length, width, and a visible border

There is no single runner size for every hallway. For example, a 31.5-inch-wide runner in a 43.3-inch-wide clear space leaves about 5.9 inches on each side (80 cm in 110 cm leaves 15 cm per side). Compare the actual dimensions of the piece, not a rounded standard size.

Kilim, pile, or a custom format?

Kilim describes a flatweave; other runners may have a knotted pile or textured surface. Check the product's material, construction, and height. For a new Moroccan rug in a chosen width and length, explore custom rugs and the available size grid.

Grip, care, and delivery

A handmade runner is not automatically non-slip or washable. Choose a rug pad compatible with the floor and follow the individual care instructions. Runners are dispatched from Morocco or Germany depending on the piece. See U.S. shipping and import charges.
